Our mission
When we set up Low.ie back in 2014, we were (and still very much are) focused on mortgage protection, life insurance, serious illness and income protection. We did not really consider cancer cover as we believed it was a small niche market. Sadly, it may be small in terms of the amount of people who have taken out cancer cover but it is huge in terms of the number of Irish people who are discovering daily that they have got cancer.
We experienced this first hand with Peter losing his sister Margaret to ovarian cancer in April 2019 and other Low colleagues also experiencing the loss of loved ones through a disease that seems to be getting more prevalent rather than less so despite all the millions of euros and hours devoted to trying to find a cure for it.
One in three men and one in four women will get an invasive cancer before the age of 75!

This prompted us to establish Getcancercover.ie as we believe strongly that every person in Ireland should have this cover if they can afford it.
Our crusade dare we say it ….is to drive cancer cover awareness in Ireland as like Zurich being the first to have such a policy available – we are the first to have a website solely devoted to it. Moreover, we also wanted to do something tangible in the fight against cancer hence our pledge to donate €10 for every policy we sell to the Irish Cancer Society. The Society does brilliant work right across the whole spectrum from medical research to supporting people with cancer.
Our Pledge
Like Climate Change, we all need to help in the race to make Cancer a thing of the past. To help in a small way towards this goal, Getcancercover.ie will make a €10 contribution to The Irish Cancer Society* for every cancer cover policy taken out via our website.
*The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity in the Republic of Ireland dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem, and improving the lives of those who have cancer.
